What’s wrong with it?
If the engine harness is installed incorrectly, the truck may be able to be started with the transmission in gear, increasing the risk of a crash.
PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2011-2014 model year Kenworth T440 vehicles manufactured March 10, 2010, through September 23, 2013 and equipped with Allison transmissions, Cummins Westport ISL-G engines, and NAMUX2 software.
In the affected vehicles, the engine harness may have been installed incorrectly rendering the neutral start interlock inoperable.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
