The short answer
NHTSA received China Manufacturers Alliance, LLC’s report on Nov 19, 2014. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.
Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
If the sidewall blister pops, rapid air pressure loss could cause loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
China Manufacturers Alliance, LLC (CMA) is recalling certain Bluestar LQ225 size 8-14.5 low platform trailer tires manufactured February 24, 2013, to August 9, 2014.
The affected tires can develop a sidewall blister on the upper section of the sidewall.
This blister may pop while the vehicle is in operation.
Thus, these tires fail to conform to the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 119, “New Pneumatic Tires for Vehicles Other Than Passenger Cars.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which tires, by their DOT codes: the range is in the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site, not in this file. Check the code on your tire’s sidewall against it.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
