What’s wrong with it?
Depending on which circuits short, the frontal air bags, side curtain air bags and the seat belt pretensioners may not deploy in a crash necessitating their deployment, and increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.
Ford and Chrysler are recalling various vehicles with certain original equipment Restraint Control Modules (RCM) AB10+ manufactured by Robert Bosch LLC between February 1, 2012, to August 27, 2013.
The conformal coating of the circuit boards in the affected modules may not have been cured properly which could induce shorting in those circuits.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
