What’s wrong with it?
The helmets may not adequately protect a rider in the event of a crash.
Allwin Powersports Corp (Allwin) is recalling certain model LS2 helmets model HH566 casing carbon helmets , sizes XS, S, M, L, XL, and XXL manufactured January 2011, to January 2012.
The helmets do not meet the minimum performance requirements of the penetration test in ambient and high temperatures.
Thus, these helmets fail to comply with the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 218, “Motorcycle Helmets.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
