The short answer

NHTSA received UCI-FRAM Group’s report on Jul 10, 2014. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the replacement fuel pumps begin to leak fluid in the presence of an ignition source, it will increase the risk of a vehicle fire.

UCI-Fram Group is recalling certain model E84070 replacement fuel pumps marketed and sold by Airtex Products, LLP.

The pumps were shipped from December 11, 2013 to June 20, 2014.

The affected replacement fuel pumps may begin to leak fluid caused by a poor seal around an electrical connection.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
