The short answer

NHTSA received Sunright International Of America, Inc.’s report on Jun 23, 2014. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

In the event of a crash, using one of the affected helmets increases the wearer’s risk of injury.

Sunright International of America, Inc.

(Sunright) is recalling all sizes of Rodia RDH 500 motorcycle helmets, manufactured October 1, 2009, to November 1, 2009.

The affected helmets may not adequately protect the user’s head in the event of a crash, and thus fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 218, “Motorcycle Helmets.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
