What’s wrong with it?
If a panel, or pieces of it, detach from the unit, they may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Thermo King Corporation (Thermo King) is recalling certain Precedent C-600, S-600, S-600M, and S-700 refrigeration units manufactured December 2012 through April 30, 2014, used to provide temperature control for cargo inside truck semi-trailers.
The affected refrigeration units have plastic side panels used to access the unit for servicing.
Due to wind or air turbulence, these panels may open and and break or detach from the refrigeration unit.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
