The short answer

NHTSA received Muncie Power Products, Inc.’s report on Mar 25, 2014. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

The leaking oil may soak into the thermal blanket covering the exhaust, which when combined with heat from exhaust, may result in an increased risk of fire.

Muncie Power Products, Inc.

(Muncie) is recalling certain PTO Assembly Pressure Switches, part number 30T37594, manufactured June 2009 through June 2013, used in power take off (PTO) assemblies.

The installation of these pressure switches when used with a PTO assembly installed on a 2009-2014 Ford F350, F450 or F550 Super Duty chassis with a 6.8L gasoline engine, may result in the switch leaking oil.

What should you do?

Muncie notified owners under a service campaign in February 2014. Dealers will install a new pressure switch kit that moves the switch away from the exhaust system, free of charge. This action is the same as the service campaign action. Owners may contact Muncie at 1-800-367-7867.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
