Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A rapid loss of tire pressure may cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

LiquidMetal Motorsports, Inc.

(LiquidMetal) is recalling certain Kronk wheels, Style No. 43, wheel sizes 16x8, 17x8.5, 18x9, and 20x9, manufactured June 1, 2013, through early March 2014, sold through Discount Tire/America’s Tire Stores.

The affected wheels may crack resulting in a loss of tire pressure.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
