Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
An inaccurate label may result in the installation of replacement tires with an insufficient load range which may lead to sudden tire failure and an increased risk of a crash.
Starcraft RV, Inc.
(Starcraft) is recalling certain model year 2014 Comet BK, BW, BX, and BY recreational vehicles manufactured August 22, 2013, through December 10, 2013.
On the affected vehicles, the certification label incorrectly identifies the load range of the tires.
Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 120, “Tire Selection and Rims for Motor Vehicles Other Than Passenger Cars.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
