Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
The lack of coolant flow may prevent the defrost and defog system from clearing the windshield, reducing the driver’s visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
Spartan Motors, Inc.
(Spartan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Utilimaster P80X vehicles manufactured from May 2, 2013, through August 8, 2013 and sold exclusively to UPS.
In the affected vehicles, the coolant return hose may kink at the bulkhead connector resulting in a reduction of coolant flow through windshield defrost system.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
