What’s wrong with it?
If the parking brakes are not completely applied, the vehicle may unintentionally move, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash or personal injury to pedestrians.
Volvo Bus Corporation (Volvo Bus) is recalling certain model year 2013 9700 coach buses manufactured April 30, 2012, through November 2, 2012.
Due a manufacturing error, the guide plate in the park brake control valve may prematurely wear creating a condition that causes the park brake lever to fail to completely apply the parking brakes.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
