What’s wrong with it?
This may allow the vehicle to unexpectedly roll, increasing the risk of personal injury or a vehicle crash.
Pierce Manufacturing Inc. is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Arrow XT and Velocity emergency vehicles, manufactured January 1, 2012, through June 14, 2013 and equipped with quarter-turn ball valves installed between the glad hands connectors and the parking brake system.
If the ball valves are left in the closed position, air pressure can build up on the parking brake circuit side and prevent the application of the spring park brakes when the parking brake valve is activated in the cab.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
