Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Towing a vehicle loaded beyond the specified weight rating may result in a tire or suspension failure leading to poor vehicle handling and an increased risk of a crash.
Heartland Recreational Vehicles is recalling certain model year 2013 Cyclone 3110 fifth wheel travel trailers manufactured May 14, 2012, through June 29, 2012.
The vehicles were manufactured with incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) information printed on the Federal Certification Label.
The actual Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is 16,000lbs but was listed as 18,000lbs on the label.
Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to Part 567, “Certification Regulation.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
