Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
If the cable does not clear the wheel chair lift it may contact the power lug and if it does not have a nonconductive cover, or it has an improperly installed non-conductive cover, then a short circuit may occur that could result in a fire.
Pierce Manufacturing is recalling one model year 2008 Oshkosh AMAMTH-2 trailer manufactured in February 2008.
The trailer is equipped with a Ricon wheelchair lift with an optional armored pendant cable.
The armored cable may be positioned such that it does not clear the wheelchair lift.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
