The short answer
NHTSA received Daimler Buses North America’s report on Jul 19, 2013. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.
Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
If the cable does not clear the wheel chair lift it may contact the power lug and if it does not have a nonconductive cover, or it has an improperly installed non-conductive cover, then a short circuit may occur that could result in a fire.
Daimler Buses North Carolina LLC (Daimler) is recalling certain model year 2007-2009 Sprinter Mini-buses equipped with a Ricon wheelchair lift with an optional armored pendant cable.
The armored cable may be positioned such that it does not clear the wheelchair lift.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
