What’s wrong with it?
When a flip seat is installed in front of another passenger seat, it is possible for the occupant of the rearward passenger seat to insert their toes and/or foot into the lower frame area of the flip seat. When a vehicle passenger occupies the flip seat, pushing the seat bottom downward to the horizontal position to sit in the seat, the occupant of the rearward seat could suffer a pinch point injury to their toes and/or foot.
Navistar is recalling certain model year 2006 through 2009, and 2012 IC CE school buses and certain model year 2006 through 2009, and 2011 through 2013 IC RE school buses manufactured from October 6, 2005, through April 18, 2012, and equipped with C.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
