Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Drivers may mistake exceedingly bright tail lamps to be brake lamps confusing following drivers about the intention to brake, increasing the risk of a crash.
Prevost is recalling certain model year 2013 X3-45 Entertainer coach shells and certain model year 2014 X3-45 highway coaches manufactured October 9, 2012, through June 6, 2013.
Improper voltage is being supplied to the tail lamps causing the brightness of the tail lamps to exceed the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
