What’s wrong with it?
If the engine starts without warning, there is an increased risk for injury to persons working on or near the engine.
New Flyer Industries is recalling certain model year 2012 XD35 and XD40, model year 2013 XD60, XDE40 and XDE60 and model year 2012-2013 XN40 and XN60 transit buses.
In the affected buses, the push-to-start button switch may have a weak return spring, allowing the engine to start unexpectedly.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
