The short answer

NHTSA received Keystone RV Company’s report on Apr 23, 2013. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the awning unfurls unexpectedly either in transit or while parked, it may increase thre risk of personal injury or a crash.

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 recreational trailers equipped with Dometic 9100 Power Awnings or Weather Pro awnings, awning serial numbers 306xxxx through 314xxxx, manufactured between February 13, 2013, through April 9, 2013.

If the awning installation sequence was not completely followed, the awning motor may unknowningly become damaged.

A damaged motor may lead to an unfurling of the awning.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
