Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Overheated brake components could result in a fire.
Autocar, LLC is recalling certain model year 2011-2013 ACX vehicles manufactured January 24, 2011, through December 4, 2012.
These vehicles are equipped with Meritor axle assemblies that were built with disc brakes using MGM J24 series air brake chambers.
In the affected axles, the brake chambers may leak pressure allowing the parking brake to drag when it is supposed to be released.
Brake dragging could lead to overheated brake components.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
