Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Brake line chafing may lead a loss of brake pressure resulting in additional distances being required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Jerr-Dan Corporation is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 Standard Duty Wrecker vehicles manufactured October 4, 2010, through March 1, 2012.
The affected vehicles are built on a Ford Super Duty Chassis and equipped with the 6.2L Triton Gasoline engine fitted with a Muncie Power Products clutch pump power take off (PTO).
To install the PTO, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module was relocated.
In its new location, a brake hose from the ABS module may chafe against other components.
On July 10, 2013, Jerr-Dan notified the agency that it would be recalling 12 Muncie Clutch Pumps PTO kits sold through its service department.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
