Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
A sidewall bulge may result in a tire deflation and subsequent tire failure which increases the risk of a crash.
Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC (Bridgestone) is recalling certain Firestone HP3000 315/80R22.5 18 ply tires manufactured January 2012 through August 2013 and sold to customers in Guam.
The affected tires may lose pressure from a crack at the inner liner splice.
Such a crack could penetrate into the sidewall, resulting in a bulge on the sidewall.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which tires, by their DOT codes: the range is in the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site, not in this file. Check the code on your tire’s sidewall against it.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
