The short answer

NHTSA received Maxzone Auto Parts Corporation’s report on Sep 9, 2013. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 28, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

The headlamps may not illuminate the roadway as brightly as intended, resulting in reduced visibility for the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

Maxzone Auto Parts Corporation (Maxzone) is recalling certain DEPO-brand headlamps sold as replacement equipment for certain model year 2004 through 2008 Ford F-150 pickup trucks.

The replacement lamps may have areas of moisture inside the lens.

As such, the headlamps fail to conform to the humidity requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
