What’s wrong with it?
A loss of ABS operation may result in the motorcycle wheels locking up during hard braking increasing the risk of a crash.
Nissin Kogyo Co., LTD is recalling certain motorcycle antilock braking system (ABS) modulators, part number NK2R3, manufactured June 18, 2012, through March 22, 2013.
Due to aluminum filings remaining inside the modulators from the manufacturing process, ABS functionality may be lost.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
