Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Cracked fuel pipes or loose fuel pipe flare nuts may leak fuel. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire.
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America (MFTA) is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 FE83D, FE84D, FE85D, and FG84D trucks; manufactured from May 27, 2004, through May 14, 2007.
The fuel pipes may crack due to an improper manufacturing process.
Additionally, the fuel pipe flare nuts may have been insufficiently tightened.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
