What’s wrong with it?
Continued use of the parking brake could result in the inability for it to hold the vehicle stationary. This may lead to a truck rollaway increasing the risk of pedestrian injury or a vehicle crash.
Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America (MFTA) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 FEC52, FEC72, FEC92, and FGB72 trucks; manufactured from April 8, 2011, through October 16, 2012.
The parking brake cable nut may have been insufficiently tightened during assembly.
As a result, the parking brake cable could loosen with each operation of the parking brake.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
