The short answer

NHTSA received Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc.’s report on Oct 31, 2012. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

If the exhaust pipe in the engine compartment were to fail, the escaping exhaust gases could make the floor area above the engine extremely hot, increasing the risk of personal injury or possibly resulting in a fire.

Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling certain model year 2010-2013 Allegro Bus motorcoaches, manufactured from March 2010, through September 2012 and equipped with a Cummins EPA 2010 ISL engine.

Insufficient shielding between the exhaust pipe and floor may cause possible overheating of the floor above the engine compartment.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
