The short answer

NHTSA received HEARTLAND RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, LLC’s report on Sep 25, 2012. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A damaged LP hose can lead to an LP leak and fire, increasing the risk of injury or death.

Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC, (Heartland) is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Bighorn Silverado Fifth Wheel Travel trailers, manufactured from February 28, 2012, through August 28, 2012.

The liquid propane (LP) hose and wire hanger that is mounted under the slide out can come in contact with the tire, causing damage to the LP hose and wiring.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
