Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
If the vehicle is driven with a cracked wheel hub, the wheel hub may break, which would reduce the driver’s ability to control the vehicle, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.
Suzuki is recalling certain model year 2012 Equator two-wheel drive vehicles manufactured from June 19, 2012, through July 12, 2012.
These vehicles may have been equipped with front wheel hubs that may not meet the design hardness specifications.
A wheel hub that was manufactured below hardness specification may wear prematurely and eventually crack.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
