What’s wrong with it?
If the cylinder loosens from the rod, the outrigger could strike a person or object, increasing the risk of injury or property damage.
Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2002-2009 AH75/85/100 and HL125 aerial device vehicles equipped with 16-foot radial outriggers.
An improper torque was applied to the outrigger cylinder piston retention system during assembly.
As a result, the cylinder could loosen from the rod allowing the outrigger leg to protrude beyond the confines of the chassis when it is in a stowed position.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
