Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of a fire.
Fleetwood RV is recalling certain model year 2013 Excursion motor homes manufactured from March 27, 2012, through July 24, 2012.
A threaded fastener installed on the turn shaft of the slide-out mechanism may come into contact with a portion of the diesel fuel fill hose while the turn shaft is rotating.
If the fastener makes contact with the fuel fill hose, there is a possibility that it will abrade the fuel fill hose and cause a leak.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
