Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
An unexpected pull condition during braking application or an unexpected increase in stopping distance, increases the risk of a crash, leading to property damage, personal injury, or death.
Navistar is recalling certain model year 2011-2013 International vehicles manufactured from November 2, 2010 through May 25, 2012, equipped with Bendix air disc brakes.
Bolts that fasten the air disc brake caliper to the caliper mounting plate may not have been tightended to their specified torque.
This may cause the mouting bolts to become loose and possibly allow the air disc brake caliper to separate from the caliper mounting plate, resulting in an unexpected pull condition during braking application or an unexpected increase in stopping distance.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
