What’s wrong with it?

WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS, FOLLOWING DRIVERS MAY NOT KNOW THAT THE LEAD VEHICLE IS SLOWING OR STOPPING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

CEQUENT IS RECALLING CERTAIN TOW READY T-ONE CONNECTORS (TRAILER WIRING HARNESS ADAPTERS), PART NUMBER 118542 THAT WERE SOLD IN THE AFTERMARKET FOR USE ON MODEL YEAR 2011 AND 2012 DODGE CHARGER VEHICLES.

DUE TO AN ERROR IN THE CIRCUIT LOGIC, THE T-ONE CONNECTOR MAY CAUSE THE LEFT (DRIVER) SIDE BRAKE LAMP ON THE TRAILER TO BECOME INOPERABLE WHILE THE RIGHT (PASSENGER) SIDE TURN SIGNAL LAMP IS ACTIVATED.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
