What’s wrong with it?

IN ABSENCE OF THE FLASHING LIGHTS, A VEHICLE APPROACHING A SCHOOL BUS THAT IS LOADING OR UNLOADING STUDENTS, MAY NOT STOP. THIS SITUATION COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH OF A PASSENGER.

MICRO BIRD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 AND 2011 MICRO BIRD G5 AND MB II SCHOOL BUSES MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 1, 2009, THROUGH MARCH 16, 2011.

THE WIRE ON THE 8-WAY FLASHING LIGHT POWER CIRCUIT IS TOO SMALL CAUSING THE TERMINAL CONNECTION TO OVERHEAT.

IF THE CONNECTION FAILS, THE 8- WAY SYSTEM WILL STOP WORKING.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
