What’s wrong with it?
LOOSENING OF THE LICENSE PLATE HOLDER COULD INTERFERE WITH THE MOTORCYCLE’S REAR WHEEL ROTATION AND THEREBY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.
DUCATI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 DIAVEL MOTORCYCLES MANUFACTURED FROM SEPTEMBER 23, 2010, THROUGH MAY 12, 2011.
THE BRASS INSERTS INSTALLED IN THE CHAIN GUARD MAY DEFORM OVER TIME, RESULTING IN THE POSSIBLE LOOSENING OF THE LICENSE PLATE HOLDER RETAINING SCREWS ON THE REAR SWING-ARM.
THIS SITUATION COULD CAUSE THE LICENSE PLATE HOLDER TO BECOME LOOSE DURING NORMAL OPERATION OF THE MOTORCYCLE.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
