Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.
What’s wrong with it?
LOOSE LUG NUTS CAN DAMAGE THE WHEEL DISC AND RESULT IN WHEEL SEPARATION FROM THE TRAILER, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
VERMEER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009-2011 BC1200XL SINGLE AXLE BRUSH CHIPPER TRAILERS MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 24, 2009, THROUGH FEBRUARY 14, 2011.
DURING THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS THE INCORRECT LUG NUTS WERE INSTALLED ON WHEELS FOR THE 285/75/R16 FLOTATION TIRE OPTION.
THESE INCORRECT LUG NUTS MAY LOOSEN, SINCE THE LUG NUTS DO NOT MATCH THE COUNTERSINK HOLES IN THE WHEEL DISC.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
