The short answer

NHTSA received WINNEBAGO INDUSTRIES, INC.’s report on Mar 8, 2011. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

THE LEAKING LP THEN HAS THE POTENTIAL TO IGNITE, WHICH COULD RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.

WINNEBAGO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 TOUR AND ITASCA ELLIPSE MOTOR HOMES MANUFACTURED FROM AUGUST 9, 2010 THROUGH JANUARY 21, 2011.

THESE VEHICLES HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR A LP HOSE CONNECTION TO BE DAMAGED WHEN THE SLIDEOUT ROOM IS OPERATED.

IF THE LP HOSE MAKES CONTACT WITH THE SLIDEOUT RAM, IT COULD BE DISCONNECTED.

IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN, A LEAK WOULD OCCUR WHEN THE LP TANK IS OPENED.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
