The short answer

NHTSA received MORGAN TRAILER MANUFACTURING’s report on Jan 20, 2011. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

SEVERE OVERLOADING COULD CAUSE THE BRACKETS TO BREAK INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

MORGAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 PENSKE VEHICLES.

THE “Z” MOUNTING BRACKETS, WHICH SUPPORT THE VAN BODY ABOVE THE CHASSIS, ARE SUBJECT TO BENDING AND, IN EXTREME CASES, INDIVIDUALLY ARE SUBJECT TO BREAKING.

IF MULTIPLE “Z” MOUNTING BRACKETS BREAK, THE PARCEL VAN BODY MAY LOWER ONTO THE CHASSIS FRAME RAIL.

THE PARCEL VAN BODY TOUCHING THE FRAME RAIL MAY CAUSE INTERFERENCE BETWEEN THE WALK RAMP AND THE FUEL LINE, AND MAY PULL AWAY FROM THE CHASSIS CAB.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
