What’s wrong with it?
SEPARATION OF A WHEEL FROM THE VEHICLE WILL REDUCE THE DRIVER’S ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
GREAT DANE IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2007 THROUGH 2009 SEMI-TRAILER VANS EQUIPPED WITH ARVINMERITOR TL AXLES SHIPPED BETWEEN APRIL 2005 THROUGH JULY 2008.
THE SPINDLE NUT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY TORQUED OR NOT TORQUED AT ALL ALLOWING EXCESSIVE END-PLAY IN THE WHEEL-END SYSTEM THAT COULD PROGRESS TO A WHEEL SEPARATION.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
