The short answer

NHTSA received NU WA INDUSTRIES, INC.’s report on Oct 1, 2010. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

A SEPARATED TIRE AND WHEEL ASSEMBLY COULD STRIKE OTHER VEHICLES AND/OR PEDESTRIANS, RISKING INJURY OR DEATH, AND/OR CAUSE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE PROPERTY.

NU WA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 CUSTOM CAMPERS HH II, AND MODEL YEAR 2006-2007, CUSTOM CAMPERS LS TRAVEL TRAILERS, EQUIPPED WITH LIPPERT AXLES COMPONENTS.

THESE VEHICLES MAY CONTAIN MIS-LOCATED WELDS ATTACHING THE AXLE SPINDLE TO THE AXLE TUBE.

IF THE WELDS ARE MIS-LOCATED, THE SPINDLE MAY PARTIALLY OR COMPLETELY SEPARATE FROM THE AXLE TUBE AND THE WHEEL AND HUB ASSEMBLY MAY COME OFF THE VEHICLE.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
