The short answer

NHTSA received FOREST RIVER, INC.’s report on Aug 3, 2010. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

AN OVERLOAD CONDITION MAY RESULT IN AN AXLE OR TIRE FAILURE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

FOREST RIVER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 WILDCAT TRAVEL TRAILERS MANUFACTURED FROM JANUARY 1, 2010 THROUGH JULY 22, 2010.

THE INFORMATION FOR THE MODELS’ GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING, GROSS AXLE WEIGHT RATING, TIRES, RIMS, AND AIR PRESSURE WAS INCORRECTLY INPUTTED IN THE CORPORATE COMPUTER SYSTEM.

AS A RESULT, THE GROSS AXLE WEIGHT RATING LABEL AND THE TIRE LABEL ON THE VEHICLES IS INCORRECT AND MAY LEAD AN OWNER TO INADVERTENTLY OVERLOAD THE VEHICLE.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
