What’s wrong with it?
IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE HELMET WILL NOT ADEQUATELY PROTECT THE WEARER OF THE HELMET, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.
ADVANCED CARBON COMPOSITES (ACC) IS RECALLING ALL MODEL EXT-001, EXT-002, AND EXT-003 MOTORCYCLE HELMETS, SIZES S/M, M/L, AND L/XL.
THESE HELMETS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE PENETRATION, IMPACT ATTENUATION, AND/OR LABELING REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 218, “MOTORCYCLE HELMETS.”

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
