What’s wrong with it?
IF THE BRACKET FAILS DUE TO THE FORCES ENCOUNTERED WHEN THE CAB PASSES THE BREAK OVER POINT AND REACHES THE END OF THE CYLINDER TRAVEL, THE CAB WILL CONTINUE ITS FORWARD MOVEMENT UNTIL IT REACHES THE GROUND. IF THE BRACKET FAILS DURING THE LIFTING SEGMENT OF RAISING THE CAB, THE CAB COULD FALL UNRESTRAINED BACK DOWN ONTO THE CHASSIS, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.
AMERICAN LAFRANCE IS RECALLING 1,251 MY 2000-2007 CONDOR TRUCKS.
THE BRACKET THAT ATTACHES THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER TO THE CAB USED TO RAISE AND LOWER THE VEHICLE CAB FOR MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES CAN FAIL.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
