The short answer

NHTSA received KEYSTONE RV COMPANY’s report on Jun 25, 2007. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 20, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

CONTINUING TO PULL A VEHICLE WITH IMPROPERLY INFLATED TIRES WILL RESULT IN POOR VEHICLE HANDLING AND INCREASED RISK OF PROPERTY DAMAGE AND A A VEHICLE CRASH COULD OCCUR IF THE TIRE FAILS AS A RESULT OF UNDER-INFLATION.

CERTAIN FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS BUILT WITH 16” STEEL WHEELS MAY LEAK AT THE VALVE STEM DURING INFLATION OR WHEN CHECKING THE AIR PRESSURE DUE TO IMPROPER SEATING OF THE VALVE STEM.

SOME MODELS HAVE ALUMINUM WHEELS WITH A STEEL SPARE AND ONLY THE SPARE IS AFFECTED.

INDICATION OF THE DEFECT OCCURS WHEN APPLYING SIDEWAYS PRESSURE TO THE VALVE STEM (SUCH AS CHECKING THE TIRE PRESSURE).

AIR WILL LEAK THROUGH THE VALVE HOLE IN THE RIM.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
