The short answer

NHTSA received FERRARI NORTH AMERICA INC’s report on Dec 15, 2006. Copied from NHTSA on Oct 27, 2026.

Every line below is in NHTSA’s own words, with its source beside it.

What’s wrong with it?

THIS LEAKAGE, IN TURN, WILL CAUSE THE BRAKING/CLUTCH HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FLUID LEVEL WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE AND, IF NOT REMEDIED, COULD ULTIMATELY AFFECT THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE CLUTCH CONTROL PEDAL. THIS COULD RESULT IN A REDUCTION IN THE DRIVER’S ABILITY TO SHIFT GEARS WHILE DRIVING, RENDERING THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

ON CERTAIN COUPE AND SPIDER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH MANUAL SIX-SPEED TRANSMISSION, THERE IS A NON-CONFORMING RIGHT-ANGLE UNION IN THE CLUTCH PUMP.

THIS COULD CAUSE A HAIR-LINE CRACK TO FORM UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS DUE TO HEAT, WHICH COULD RESULT IN FLUID LEAKAGE FROM THE BRAKING/CLUTCH HYDRAULIC SYSTEM.

What the record doesn’t say

  • NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
  • Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
  • This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
  • How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
