What’s wrong with it?
INCREASED WEAR FOR THE DRAGLINK CONNECTIONS CAN OCCUR CREATING A NOTICEABLE INCREASE IN THE AMOUNT OF STEERING WHEEL FREE PLAY. IF THIS CONDITION WAS IGNORED, A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE COULD OCCUR WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
ON CERTAIN TRUCKS, DURING ASSEMBLY, THE DRAG LINK ATTACHMENT NUTS AT THE PITMAN ARM AND STEERING ARM MAY HAVE BEEN INCORRECTLY TORQUED.
RESIDUAL GREASE AND PAINT WHICH WAS APPLIED AS A RUST INHIBITOR ON THE STEERING ARM MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO A LOSS OF TORQUE AFTER ASSEMBLY.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Whether one vehicle or seat has been fixed: only its maker, or NHTSA’s lookup with a VIN, can say.
- This recall names only model years before 2015, which have no pages here. Your VIN, at NHTSA, says which recalls are open on a vehicle.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
