What’s wrong with it?
PREMATURE WEAR OF THE BALL JOINTS COULD EVENTUALLY RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
CERTAIN FEDERAL MOGAL CHASSIS PRODUCTS’ BALL JOINT ASSEMBLIES SOLD AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT UNDER THE MOOG AND CARQUEST BRANDS ON 1997-1990 HONDA ACCORD AND 1988-1995 HONDA TRUCK ODYSSEY VEHICLES.
THE SUBJECT PARTS HAVE A LOW HARDNESS ALLOWING THE BALL JOINT THE POTENTIAL TO WEAR PREMATURELY.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
