What’s wrong with it?
IF THE BRAKET BREAKS, CONTINUOUS VIBRATION MAY CAUSE THE CARRIER TO SLOWLY SLIDE OUT OF THE TRAILER HITCH CROSSTUBE AND FALL ON THE ROAD, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
AFTERMARKET CONTINENTAL KIT SPARE TIRE CARRIERS H&P P/N 02010001/02044500 AND ARE DESIGNED TO BE USED ON CLASS B MOTORHOMES ROADTREK 170, 190 AND 210 MODELS, BUILT ON CHEVROLET 2500/3500 VAN CHASSIS.
DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER, VIBRATION/STRESS CAN FATIGUE THE BRACKET AND LEAD TO FRACTURE.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
