What’s wrong with it?
LOW PRESSURE IN THE TRAILER’S PNEUMATIC SYSTEM COULD CAUSE A MALFUNCTION IN THE TRAILER’S AIR BRAKES, WHICH COULD LEAD TO A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
MOFFETT MOUNTY TRUCK MOUNTED FORKLIFTS.
THESE FORKLIFTS WERE INSTALLED WITHOUT A REQUIRED PRESSURE PROTECTION VALVE.
WITHOUT THE PRESSURE PROTECTIVE VALVE, LEAKAGE IN THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM THAT SUPPLIES THE MOUNT KIT COULD LEAD TO UNCONTROLLED ESCAPE OF THE AIR PRESSURE FROM THE TRAILER’S PNEUMATIC SYSTEM.

What the record doesn’t say
- NHTSA’s recall file doesn’t say whether anyone was hurt.
- Which ones, by part or lot: the recall’s report on NHTSA’s site gives them where the maker did; this file gives part numbers only where its maker listed them.
- How many have been returned or fixed isn’t in the notice.
